Well the Gulf Coast area of Mississippi is preparing for another storm.

Right now the storm is predicted to hit mainly in Louisiana, but anyone with any experience with hurricanes know nothing is definate until the storm has made landfall. Due to the fact that the storm is very large even if it goes in over Lousiana, here in Mississippi we will get at least tropical storm force winds, rain etc or a little worse from it. The Alabama coast will also get some bad weather.. Many have left, or taken refuge in shelters. Both Mississippi and Louisiana still have many people in fema trailers or "Katrina" cottages and those aren't safe in storms.  For us personally we are about as prepared as we can get and are waiting, watching and trusting the Lord. Thankfully we are not right on the coast, but this area can definately get bad weather from it - wind, rain, tornados, flooding in low areas etc. I will be thrilled if we don't lose electricity and phone, but it is a pretty good likelihood we will. We will just have to do what I said - wait, watch, pray and trust God!

In a storm like this there are warnings that it is coming and some time to prepare. Some still wait till the last minute or ignore the warnings. Sometimes those pay with their lives. Hurricanes are nothing to play around with.

You know too often people do the same thing in other areas of their life. You see all of us have an appointment with death, but many never prepare. Each of us also will also have storms in their lives to go through - death of a loved one, loss of a job, finacial problems, physical problems etc. How will you face them and make it through?

If we make preparations in advanced it makes going through the storm easier. How can we prepare for storms that come into our lives? The only way I know to prepare for the storms of our lives and go through them successfully is with the Lord. Jesus told us in Matthew how to prepare :

Mt 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Believe God, trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, build your life on the Jesus our Foundation and the Rock of His Word, then you will be prepared to meet the appointment you have with death and prepared to face the storms that will come into your life. Without Christ your life will end in disaster and eternal torment. With HIM and ONLY through, you can build a life worth living that will withstand any storm!
