You have a wonderfully beautiful & awesomely positive Blog!
That really is a great word - FINISHED - all work is through - it is done, complete - FINISHED!
I can say that about an afghan I was working on. I finished my first afghan made with a Q hook. I enjoyed it a great deal since it worked up pretty quick. It isn't my first afghan, for I enjoy making afghans a lot. In fact, I took an afghan I had finished at an earlier time and entered it is the exhibits at the fair today. Tomorrow afternoon I will find out how it did in the judging. I also entered 4 of my photographs. It is fun to see how they will do.
Here is a picture of the afghan I just finished:
Then this is a picture and close up of the afghan I entered in the fair:

Let me know what you think of them.
You know life is sort of like that - one day we will be finished with our lives. When we are finished with the race we have in life - it will, indeed, be finished - no second chances or redos. Some people think when we finish that we all go to one judgment where we are judged according to our works - if our good works out weigh our bad works we go to Heaven - if not, well, we go to Hell. Thankfully that is not a true.
Where you will spend eternity is decided here in this life, not by our works, but by what we do with the finished work of Christ. You see Jesus finished something too - When He died on the cross at Calvary, one of the last things Jesus said was "IT IS FINISHED" (John 19:30b) He had finished all the work necessary for us to be saved. He took all the punishment for our sin and paid the penalty. He purchased salvation for us with His blood. He died, was buried for 3 days and arose in victory over sin, death, hell, and the grave. Now He offers eternal life to us as a free gift.
There is no work we can do to earn it and there is no work we can do to keep it. That would be an insult to the Lord Jesus Christ - He finished it and did it all. If someone took my afghan I have finished and started trying to add to it - I would be upset. How much more do you think it insults the Lord when we try to add our pitiful efforts to what He has done and think they earn us some merit?
The work for salvation is finished - all we can do is believe God and receive it as the free gift that He offers.
Are you ready, if your life course were to end today? If not, why not repent of your sin and your way and trust what Jesus has done for you. If you are not convinced and want to know what happens to those who depend on their works to save them or keep them check out the Bible blog post. Don't wait too late to come to Jesus - you never know when your race will be finished for eternity!
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Wow you got a good talent. I forgot what to called that thing at our country. I do it before when I was in high school. I made a dress for dolls but I think I also forget how to do it now. Thanks for visiting my page.
