Hybrid post

One of the definitions of hybrid is
  1. Something of mixed origin or composition.

That is what this post is - a mix of this and that.

First I want to say thank you to bravenet for the JotW award and to everyone for their kind remarks.

To update on my fair entries - My afghan won a red ribbon (second place) and my four photos I entered each won a blue ribbon (first place) Here are two of the pictures I entered :

Black-capped Chickadee :

and this is one of the squirrels that loves to get into our bird feeders :

They are as much fun to watch as the birds and are so intelligent. No matter what you do, they will figure a way to get a bite.

The next part of my post isn't as much fun, but is very important. Do you realize that ELECTION DAY is LESS than 2 WEEKS away?

I have to admit I am NOT looking forward to this election. I think this is a dangerous time for our country. I am not overly enthusiastic about either choice for president, but I will be voting for one of them. That said I will tell you why

I WILL NOT be voting for Barak Obama :

I believe this man is a horrible choice for our country and the last thing we need right now. We are blessed in the United States to have a say in our government. Each vote counts. With that wonderful privilege comes a huge responsibility.

I believe Christians are to be involved in voting and they are to vote for those who will uphold Biblical values. That is our responsibility. Ultimately it is upto the Lord who is elected. The Bible tells us in Daniel 2:20- 21 : "Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:"

Sometimes He allows those who are not good to be in charge to bring judgment on a country. I pray He will be merciful to this country although He has little reason to do so.

As I said though, our job is to vote for those who will stand for Biblical values. That man is NOT Barak Obama.

Obama is strongly behind a woman's right to an abortion even to the extent he doesn't support rescuing a child born alive in an abortion gone wrong. I strongly suggest you check out some of the articles of Jill Stanek. I do not support her religion (Catholic) but she has some very good points about Obama.(click to visit http://www.jillstanek.com/ )God is clear that He is against the shedding of innocent blood and you can't get any more innocent than a baby in the womb. In Bible days people sacrificed their children to false gods for selfish reasons and abortion is just another form of sacrafice to the false god of selfishness. Ps 106:38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. Our land is polluted with blood also and there will be judgment. I urge you to stand against the wrong with your vote.

Another sin that is being allowed to run rampant in our country is homosexuality. The Democratic platform is firmly behind the homosexual seeking their "rights", God, however, still says it is an abomination. Will you stand with man or God?

If you are not sure where the canidates stand on the issues go to this site and read the comparison platforms : I VOTE VALUES

The next reason I am going to discuss here that I will not vote for Obama is that our country, the United States of America,;is a sovereign nation and it should stay that way. We answer to our constitution not to a world power, court etc. There was in this month's Reader's Digest, an article on how the world would vote for Obama - I do not want a president the rest of the world (much of which hates us) would choose for us. If you would like to read the article you may click here (RD article)

I also find it very troubling that Obama has a Muslim background. I am not saying he is Muslim, but I do believe he would hold a sympathy toward them. I do not believe he would be as likely to bless Israel. That is a very important matter to our country for the Bible still says that God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse her. Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. It has proven out through the years. Read this little booklet online if you would like more info(Love the Jewish People)

So those are some of the reason I will not be voting for Obama, but rather for someone I believe will stand for those values to a greater degree.

I am most thankful though for the fact this isn't my real home. That is Heaven. I am only passing through. Jesus is coming back for His children and that day is closer than it has ever been. Sin will continue to abound and get worse. The only real hope for this world is not in Obama or McCain, but in the Lord JESUS CHRIST!

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ

Wow..I have to say this is a strong blog right here and you make some very bold and important points that we should all be thinking more about...I admit, I had not thought of these issues before reading your blog...Now my head is in a whirlwind of thoughts...
People with children growing up right now should also be very concerned with this...what will this world be like when they are grown and ready to make lives of their own and have their own families...We as adults can make it a little better for them in the choices we make right now...
I also agree with you 100% on all of the quotes you made from the bible...these are quotes I have heard many times before..and now as you say, they mean more than ever before...

Have a great weekend....

Congratulations on your second place ribbon!!

I love the squirrel!! They are so much fun to watch, I must admit. I enjoy seeing them chase each other around the trees.

As for your comments on Obama, you are CORRECT! I agree on every single point.
