Thank You so very much for stopping over
I had to laugh at the visiual I had of you slamming the door
You have a wonderfully beautiful & awesomely positive Blog!
You know atheists fight awful hard against something they don't even believe is there. I think perhaps what they are fighting is their own conviction.
You may have seen their newest attack mentioned on the news - if not this will give you an idea : The American Humanist Society ads will typically feature a man in a Santa suit with the caption: "Why believe in God. Just be good for goodness' sake." (article)
Unfortunately what they do not realize is that it is impossible to have good without God. Even the word "good" testifies that you can't have "good" without God - if you take out GOD all you have left is "O" as in O' no or O' my or O' help us or O' hOw hOrrible. You know, the cries of ones left hurting when the Godless act.
It is impossible for man to be good on their own. God tells us in the Bible, in Romans 3:10-12, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."
There are even religious people who believe in a god, that still teach a person must be good, must do something, to go to paradise, nivania, heaven etc. But the Bible tells us the truth when it says "they that are in the flesh cannot please God" (Rom8:8b).
The only way to please God is with faith. Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
Although it is impossible for us to be truly good without God and equally impossible for anything seemingly good we do manage to achieve to earn us a place in Heaven, there is good news. As all "good" does, it comes from God. (James 1:17 tells us "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.")
The best gift that God has given us is Jesus Christ (the one they fight so hard against at Christmas). We can never attain the level of righteousness that is necessary for us to be allowed into Heaven so God gave us Jesus to make a way for us to be saved.
We are all sinners, separated from God by our sin and condemned to spend eternity separated from God in torment, but God loves us and so Jesus who was sinless and perfect, took on a body of flesh like ours, and in our place, He took our punishment. He took our sin on Him and suffered and died in our place. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For he (God the Father) hath made him (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (Jesus)."
Jesus died in our place, taking our punishment and then the 3rd day, He arose bodily from the grave in victory over death, sin, hell and the grave. Jesus is alive forevermore, with victory for each of us who will trust Him as our Saviour. When we repent of our sin and believe His Word, coming to Him to receive the free gift of salvation that He offers, Jesus takes our sin and wraps us up in HIS righteousness. That is the only way we will be allowed in Heaven - dressed in HIS righteousness - NOT ours.
So the choice is yours. Who are you going to believe? God or man?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
